Welcome to Point of Care Paediatric Cardiac Ultrasound Course

This Point of Care Cardiac Ultrasound Course is aimed at trainees at Registrar level to provide them a strong foundation in using POCUS equipment, enabling them to obtain useful cardiac views and understand the application of Cardiac PoCUS in the care of children in acute settings.

The course comprises online modules that candidates must finish before attending a face-to-face session at East Surrey Hospital. The online modules are organized into four chapters, each containing multiple lessons designed to simplify and convey a basic understanding of various aspects of Cardiac Point-of-Care Ultrasound (PoCUS). The face-to-face session involves a series of lectures and hands-on practice using simulators, fostering a comprehensive learning experience. Upon course completion, candidates are anticipated to conduct supervised Cardiac PoCUS in their respective hospitals before gaining the autonomy to perform independently.
